What is WIM?
WIM (Windows Image)
WIM is an abbreviation for Windows Image.
Windows Image (WIM) format images can be managed using the ImageX in order to modify and manage multiple images concurrently.
Windows images are base installations of operating systems especially in corporate companies that service packs, patches, fixes, etc. all applied, configurations on IE for example are customized according to the company requirements.
And this base installation is re-captured as an image and deployed to new computers of the company.
Deployment of images enables IT professionals in a company easily react to client problems and fast installation of new computers.
